Things to know for CCS

Now that Half Moon Bay High School has qualified for the Central Coast Section Division IV basketball finals, playing Menlo School, here are a few things to be aware prior to the game.

Tip time is 8 p.m., Friday at Foothill College. There is a $3 charge for a daily parking pass at Foothill. There are parking payment machines located in the student lots. You will want to park in a legal spot then purchase the parking ticket. Failure to purchase a parking ticket will probably get you a ticket, with fines starting at $45.

Tickets cost $10 for general admission, $5 for seniors, $4 for students with student body cards, $2 for children under 12, and $20 for a family pack, consisting of two adults and one child.

Also, don’t be surprised if the traffic is heavy on Interstate-280, prior to the El Monte Road exit. It’s just part of the normal commute.

Action at Foothill starts with the girls game at 5:30 p.m. as Menlo School plays its rival, Sacred Heart Prep. Thus, Half Moon Bay fans should not be surprised if Sacred Heart Prep fans cheer as loudly for the Cougars. Many Menlo players were cheering for Half Moon Bay to beat Sacred Heart Prep at Saturday’s quarterfinal game.

Capacity at Foothill is about 1,900 fans.

Both Half Moon Bay and Menlo have qualified for next week’s Northern California playoffs. The seeding will be done Sunday, with the brackets to be announced after 5 p.m.

Quick update.

For those unable to attend the game, the game will be streamed live at:
