PAL Tournament brackets ready

Both Half Moon Bay High School basketball teams will begin play in the Peninsula Athletic League Basketball Tournament at 7 p.m., Thursday at different sites.

The boys team goes to Aragon. The Dons finished second in the PAL South Division, while the Cougars took third in the PAL North Division.

The winner of that game plays the winner of the Sequoia-El Camino, at 7:30 p.m., Friday in the tournament semifinals. The semifinal and championship games for the PAL Tournament takes place at Sequoia.

Meanwhile, while the Half Moon Bay girls team was at Burlingame watching the Panthers beat Woodside, taking the No. 1 seed in the PAL South and place Woodside as the South's No. 2 seed, South San Francisco edged Terra Nova, making South San Francisco is the PAL North’s No. 2 seed, followed by Half Moon Bay and Terra Nova. PAL North champion Westmoor is the North's No. 1 seed.

Thus, Half Moon Bay plays its opening round game at Woodside.

The winner of that game plays the winner of the San Mateo/Westmoor game, at 3 p.m., Friday.

Comments

Upon further review, I made a mistake in the girls bracket.

El Camino is going to Burlingame and not Terra Nova. El Camino and Terra Nova tied for fourth and El Camino has the tie-breaker.

Everything is else is fine.
